The back of the adult turtle body is dark brown or black, decorated with yellow or white white spots, and the belly is off-white. The scales on the top of the leatherback turtle's head are unevenly arranged. The longitudinal ribs and edges of the limbs of the larvae are light yellow or white, and the abdomen is white with black spots.
